Air conditioning always gives me sinus infection

This year I’ve been extremely conscientious of all of these familiar patterns that my life seems to follow on an annual basis.

It’s become apparent that I make the same mistakes over and over again.

Either I’m missing some important lessons from the universe or I’m just plain dense. That’s why I’m paying a lot of attention right now to my central air conditioning usage. It came to mind that every year around this time, I come down with some kind of horrific sinus infection. I’ve always suspected that the respiratory distress was caused by too much air conditioning usage. Right around this time, the outdoor climate becomes very hot and muggy. Air conditioning becomes absolutely inescapable, not only in the comfort of my own home but in every public space. You can’t go to a grocery store, office, or movie theater without being blasted by high powered cooling systems. Personally, this indoor air is too cold for my liking, and I think my sinuses feel the same about the overabundant AC. If you haven’t noticed, air conditioning creates extremely dry indoor environments. I have to hypothesize that my mucus membranes don’t enjoy this cold, dry sensation after 24 hours of constant exposure. They become susceptible to infection, and eventually an airborne bacteria or virus will ride the waves of my HVAC system and take hold.Once the sinus infection starts, I noticed that exposure to air conditioning makes everything much worse. As soon as I go outside and experience fresh, humid air, my airways clear up in my congestion lessens. This year, I won’t be making the same mistake. I won’t be relying 100% on air conditioning.
