Fight over best HVAC provider on Nextdoor

it’s really interesting to me how devoted and loyal customers can be to their favorite stores and services.

For instance, I know a lot of folks who refuse to shop at anywhere except their favorite retail outlet.

They genuinely believe that the corporation cares about them and the products that they sell. Similarly, apparently a lot of folks in my neighborhood honestly believe that the local heating and cooling shops care about them and their families. This couldn’t have been more clear than when a fight erupted on the Nextdoor yesterday regarding the best air quality control repair shop in the area. Somebody innocently asked for a recommendation for a reliable heating and cooling company because their home had never been outfitted with central HVAC. Apparently, they were ready to add an extension on to the house and retrofit ductwork into the walls at the same time. When they inquired about the best HVAC dealership in the area, folks started writing in immediately. And the conversation about these superior air quality control specialists quickly escalated into a full-blown argument. My neighbors were literally swearing at each other for their personal experiences with various furnace and air conditioning maintenance stories. I felt like we were in the middle of a political debate, but it was regarding air temperature. It seems like people were ready to die for their preferred furnace and air conditioning technician. Not only was this amazing free advertising for every HVAC company in the area, but it must have gotten people fired up about indoor air quality management. I swear, I’ve seen every HVAC company’s truck parked around the block this morning.
