Good luck with the energy bill – wired work thermostat

The older I get, the more I realize that the bane of every adults existence is upper management. No matter what position they work in, no matter what field they’re in, and no matter how long they’ve been working at that company… People will always tell you that is great, except for dealing with upper management. They don’t like the decisions that are being made at the top and the people who are sitting prettiest tend to care the least. They take extravagant vacations and check back in just to ruin things. That’s what happened recently at my job, like everyone else is. Our CEO had been out of the country for at least a month. He returned to the states like a cyclone. He started screaming and everybody about her energy expenditure for the last two months, raging that he didn’t understand why our energy usage had increased compared to the prior three months. We tried to explain that the extra summer heat caused us to operate our air conditioning system for this past month, unlike the spring season. At that point, he lost his mind about AC. He decided that we shouldn’t be able to turn the thermostat lower than 75 degrees. He immediately called out our industrial HVAC Tech and had him install a passcode on the thermostat. In his mind, locking the thermostat guaranteed that he would save money on energy next month. He didn’t care that we were all going to be miserable. Well, unfortunately for him, several of the guys at my work have experience in the HVAC industry. They easily pop to the thermostat off the wall, and wired the air conditioning unit directly, so it ran constantly. I hope my boss enjoys his energy bill next month.
