Do you ever have days when you just throw up your hands and laugh at how unfortunate your luck is? For me, this is a daily occurrence.
For as long as I can remember, I have had terrible luck.
Even when things show to move smoothly, they tend to get very complicated and require extra energy from me. For instance, when I recently bought a new car it turned out to be a complete disaster. The dealership took me for a ride, I had to make multiple trips to complete all of their paperwork, and I wound up with a lemon of a vehicle. Later, when I went to register the car, I found out they sent the registration to the wrong state. Similarly, when I was preparing my home for the impending cold winter air, I began experiencing road blocks left and right. First, I attempted to place more insulation in the attic for better energy-efficiency this winter, only to find a ton of rodent damage that needed to be repaired. When I finally had the rodents eradicated from the attic, we found that there was black mold hidden beneath the old insulation. When I had a construction team rip out the damaged insulation and wood, we found that there were structural issues with my air ducts. When I finally patched up my extensive air duct damages, I swore that I was ready to take on the cold winter season. I went to the thermostat and started up my furnace, only to find that cold air with streaming from my air vents. Once again, I called off the professionals. This time, an HVAC technician came out to investigate my failed heating system. I was unhappy about paying yet another service charge to this HVAC repairman. I was even more unhappy when he told me that he just needed to relight the pilot.
