For the past year I haven’t had a solid plan in my life. Everything exploded shortly after leaving a difficult relationship, and I have been trying to figure out what my new life plan is ever since. To be honest, it has been extremely exciting but also extremely stressful. That’s why, I was extremely excited to go spend some time with my family around the holidays this year and decompress. I haven’t been in the same house as my family for several months, and I was really looking forward to a comfortable and relaxing experience. However, I never expected that my aunt’s house would be so incredibly comfortable that I would consider staying there forever. You see, my family still lives in the cold North part of the country. Whenever I go to visit, I experience a true climate shock as the cold air engulfs my body and my system tries to adapt to the frigid conditions. Normally, this is a terrible experience every time I visit. My mom’s house is cold, drafty, and the air temperature never stays even. This time, however, I stayed at my aunt’s house. I was immediately spoiled by the wonderful feeling of her radiant heated floors the moment that I walked inside. It was obvious that she didn’t operate a traditional forced air furnace like the rest of my cold family. Instead, she utilized top-of-the-line radiant heated flooring, which consisted of boiling hot water pipes positioned beneath her beautiful wood paneled floors. You would have no idea that the heating implement was hidden beneath the flooring, until your toes touch to the toasty warm surface. After a week living in the best heating source I’ve ever experienced, it truly was a struggle to return to my old life.
