For the past several years my husband and I have been bickering non-stop. Don’t get me wrong, we fight about just about everything… But there’s one topic that has been a thorn in our side, in particular. The trouble all started when we moved into this new house together and quickly realized that the indoor air handling devices were not up to par. In fact, it turns out that the home inspector had been incorrect with his HVAC equipment approximations before we purchased the house. The air conditioning system and boiler system in the basement were much older than we were told. When we started noticing hot and cold patches throughout the house with uncomfortable air temperature fluctuations we knew that it was going to be a big problem whenever the HVAC system broke down. We expected that we would have to shell out a lot of money for professional repair services to keep the heating, cooling, and ventilation system running. Alternatively, we discussed the option for fully replacing our central heating, cooling, and air quality control plan. This is why a lot of the bickering began. I wanted to replace all of the heating and cooling equipment right away. Meanwhile, my husband wanted to keep putting Band-Aids on the broken indoor air temperature control machinery.
