The flat is easily quiet now at 3 in the afternoon, as the streets are now void of tourists plus most of the stores are closed for a few hours for siesta time.
In the Summer at this time it is even more still as the stifling heat cripples most people plus keeps them in their homes till late in the evening when it finally starts to deliver some relief from the heat.
The temps can hit well over 100F plus when it is humid out it makes it almost impossible to be out in the daylight doing anything. Heating up early in the day keeps you in the flat most of the day, plus hopefully with some enjoyable air conditioning. I have a backup component in fact, because I cannot sleep in a living room that has nothing more than a fan to keep you cool. I’ve tried sleeping without A/C in this country a few times plus I swore I would never go again without some kind of temperature control system to keep me cool while I sleep. So now I have a backup component in case the main system went down for some reason, however if the power to the building goes out one night then I am in trouble, especially if it is in the middle of the Summer season. But all you can do is try your best, plus having two HVAC systems is trying my best. I know I could go for a midnight swim in the sea if my power went out, but I could have a whole strange set of troubles if I were to spot a fin.
